BarrysinOZ
Good Day I would please like to know if anyone can assist me with the following information. My husband is currently on a work visa in Australia. We moved here from South Africa and I'm due to give birth, as I will be giving birth in Australia we had a few questions. What would the process be regarding getting a birth certificate for baby? Do I need to request that from South Africa? How long does the process take? What are the costs? Where do I go? How and when do I go for a passport and visa. We don't know which way to go? Hope you can assist. Regards
RYLC
@TamTam can you perhaps give some idea about registering a foreign birth in RSA since you had to do this for your son. I know it was in Europe but the process will give a starting point.
RYLC
The South African High Commission in Canberra will have all the information you need. Here is a link to their page and forms for registering a new-born https://www.sahc.org.au/citizenship/Birth_Registration.htm
