TeeTMI Posted August 13, 2018 Report Share Posted August 13, 2018 (edited) As of the 12th August 2018 the Skilling Australians Fund will be applied to all NEW Employer Nominations (does not impact current visa holders) The Skilling Australians Fund replaces the previous Training benchmark requirements. Some Employers may be deterred by these new charges, especially where they have previously been able to meet the Training benchmarks without issue. This new charge will be imposed on employers who nominate workers for temporary or permanent skilled work visas 482, 186, 187.https://www.legislation.gov.au/…/Explanatory%20Stateme…/Text Employers seeking to nominate an overseas worker for a visa will now need pay the following fees to the Department of Home Affairs: Businesses with an annual turnover of less than $10 million. An upfront payment for each employee sponsored on a TSS visa of $1,200 x number of years sponsored. A one-off payment for each employee nominated on a Permanent Residence ENS or RSMS visa of $3,000. Businesses with an annual turnover over $10 million. An upfront payment for each employee sponsored on a TSS visa of $1,800 x number of years sponsored. A one-off payment for each employee nominated on a Permanent Residence ENS or RSMS visa of $5,000. These figures are currently capped at a maximum payment of $8,000 for the TSS and $5,500 for the permanent residence visas.
