PCC a year old in JMay - Should I re apply

Hi All

 

So I went early to apply for my PCC due to a traffic infringement arrest.

All was clear so used it to apply for 189 Visa on 21 Dec.

 

Now, the worry is the great "What If?"

What if our Visa is only awarded in May? I will not have enough time to get my affairs in order to leave before my activation date.

Should I be proactive and apply for another PCC?

Do I update my Visa profile or leave it till requested?

Hello There,

I would recommend applying for a new PCC.  I have heard of applicants given two weeks to make their initial entry due to a PCC expiry date.

 

All you need to do is upload the new PCC to your immi account once you have it.

I will re-apply next week. At worst it is R140 and 2 hours wasted.

Our PCC are also expiring in May however for us it's 2 month process with visits to the embassy for fingerprints; over R2000 in courier fees just for the RSA PC; plus a couple hundred EURO for the Dutch ones.

 

I think I am going to wait for the visa and see - if I need to head over really quickly then so be it. Trying to arrange PCC for RSA from overseas is too taxing.

Please note it is possible to request an extension of the initial entry date - I have done this for my clients a few times.

Happy to report back that the time required to activate was linked to the medical and not the PCC. Our required activation date is 01 February 2019! That takes the stress off!!
