TeeTMI Posted November 8, 2017 Report Share Posted November 8, 2017 Temporary Parent Visa - Update Previously the government had announced that they were expecting the new temporary Parent Visa (3 & 5 years) to be introduced in November. The latest update is that it cannot yet come into effect this is because the government are still awaiting a related Bill to be passed into legislation. The related Bill was introduced into the House of Representatives in September 2016 and was passed through the house the following month. However, whilst it was Introduced into Senate in October 2016 it has not yet passed through Senate. Amendments have been proposed, as of 16/10/17 a 2nd reading has been further adjourned. We have not yet been informed when the Bill will be listed for further consideration in the Senate. We will update as and when we hear further news of this visa.
