TeeTMI
Details of the 12th July 2017 round of Invitations for the 189 SkillSelect visa invites have been published. http://www.border.gov.au/WorkinginAustralia/Pages/12-july-2017-round-results.aspx As was expected a variety of factors interplayed and the required points score increased to above 60. A score of at least 70 points was required for all non Pro Rata occupations in order to obtain an invite in this round. We have a graph on our website showing how the waiting periods have varied over time. http://www.taylormadeimmigration.com/DaystoInvite As this is the beginning of the 'Migration' year the occupation quotas were reset on the 1st July. A comparison with the Quotas from last year can be found at http://www.taylormadeimmigration.com/Quota2017

TeeTMI
Here is the DIBP points table for the scores required for the Pro Rata occupations. Lucky Accountants - the quota has almost doubled so hopefully this will clear some of the people who have been waiting for some time. AC2017
Tee, do you have any sense of why the 189 processing time has increased so dramatically? and in your experience does this apply to applications lodged in March/April...i.e. is it likely that we may have to wait 8 months from now.... or can take comfort in the fact that our applications have already been in for 4-5 months? Thank you

Thank you The '8 months' relates to the DIBP statement '75 per cent of applications processed in 8 months' and 95% within 11 months - this is the current expected time line from the time of application. So yes if your application had been in for 4-5 months then that would generally be included within that time frame. Remember this can increase/decrease over time. I do have some ideas of why the processing times may have increased but I do not have confirmation of these. Given the DIBP are not providing reasons in relation to the current situation, it would be inappropriate to comment on them as they may or may not be correct. TeeTMI
A very quick update of SkillSelect as the details of the 26th July round of invitations have been published the day after the previous round. The number of EOI points required for a 189 invite in this round remains at 70 points (SC489 family sponsored 60 points). A number of factors are in play here increasing the required points levels from 60 seen last year. We have undated the table detailing the quota of places used for the year. Possibly a DIBP typo - but strangely the following two occupations appear to have had well over their quota of places allocated in the first month Electronics Engineers: already show over 20% of places taken ICT Business and Systems Analysts already show almost 40% of places taken http://www.taylormadeimmigration.com/Quota2017 ProRata Occupation - Points Required in the table below

CharlesH
Looks to me like the figure for ICT Business and Systems Analysts is incorrect. The figure for Software Developers is 1 which appears, looking at iEOI invites for Juky on yimmitracker, to be incorrect. It may be that they have erroneously included the latter figures in the former.

Electronics Engineers: 10% of places taken ICT Business and Systems Analysts 10% of places taken Both as expected given we are one month in, rather than the 40 and 20% figures previously suggested by the DIBP - which appears related to misaligned columns.
