Dean04
So................... Afrer months of checking and re-checking the myimmitracker.com site every +-15 minutes for any movement on grants I suddenly find myself feeling lost! What did you guys do to fill the void the grant has left? What's the next big thing to stress about? Looks like we're aiming to settle around the Gold Coast/Brisbane area. T minus 36 days to our activation/LSD trip!

Packing, cleaning, closing accounts, selling off final assets like cars. The time will fly as the packing stage is much busier and more stressful than the visa grant stage in my opinion.
laurie26
What does a direct visa grant mean? We have just submitted our nomination application :-)
RYLC
It means submitting your application with all the documentation required so that when the Case Officer looks at it, they don't need to ask for anything and the first time you hear from them is the letter to say that your visa has been granted. Some people think that it is the best because their application was so complete that they sailed straight through. I think that it is a false "first prize" and here's why: you get your police clearances and medicals upfront. This sounds "good" until you realise that the date on the police clearances and/or medicals dictate the date that you have to be in Australia by to validate your visa (12 months from date of these documents). So people either end up having to get their documents (eg police clearances) again because visa processing times have become very much longer and they have expired or they get their visa with only a month or so of validity on their clearances and they have to get here to validate within that month (which is obviously not enough time to sell up / pack up / finalise everything. Then we get the posts on here where people are in a panic because they are running out of time and have to find the money for a validation trip on top of the eventual move.
DannyReed32
As the previous post suggests it's a complete application. We waited 8 months for our grant and had we done our pcc upfront we would've been in a world of trouble. Our entry date is now the 2nd of December because our pcc expires end of January 2018. Always do your pcc a month or so before your inteded lodgement date. That should determine your entry date roughly.
