Tntaglia
Hi everyone I'm not sure if this belongs here or in the immigration section, sorry if I'm getting it wrong. We haven't started applying for visas yet (waiting to see if the job offer that spurred the thinking is going through since that will decide the visa type) but I have a question about the medical screening. My husband has two medical conditions: a pacemaker (due to a congenital heart defect) and a back problem (slipped disk, he has had surgery before, currently only getting physiotherapy for it). We don't know how likely it is that this will cause problems for us at the visa application point, has anyone perhaps encountered this? For reference he's 40 years old and otherwise in great health so he's not a great drain on medical resources but I'm not sure how the Oz government will think about this. I know that we'll have to take out private health if we want physiotherapy to be covered so that's all good but any other info would be wonderful. Thanks! JoVincent
Hi there! No I don't think your husband will have any problems, from what I've read on this forum, it is only very serious health issues that they look out for - these being HIV, TB, Cancer... Here is a thread where it was discussed, perhaps post your question there to get feedback from others
