BobSA
Hi guys Probably a question more applicable to people who have purchased flights from Australia to Europe before. Looking to book a flight from Melbourne to Athens in July. I understand it is peak season due to European summer but prices look quite steep when comparing against costs of flying from SA even if you take into account the extra 4,000km distance. A flight to Athens from JHB is like R10k on Emirates. A flights from Melbourne to Athens is AUD 2,100 (cheapest airline which was Qatar Airways) clearly taxes,Airport costs, labour costs on the ground etc in Aus are very different to SA Just want to know if this is the normal price from what people have experienced and if/when perhaps specials run what is the price like or does it not differ much?
