Tiermelk
Is this search timeout setting really necessary? I can not think of any other site with the same behavior. Maybe it`s just how I make use of the search functionality. This comes up if you do two searches quickly after each other. Please wait 13 seconds before attempting another search Error code: 1C205/
0 BrendanH
This is actually standard for most forum software. Search can be notoriously hard on databases. If you have a high volume forum it doesn't take much in the way of concurrent search queries against the DB to cause degradation in performance. 0 Tiermelk
Thanks Brendan, I`ll have to make use of google to search saaustralia.org then. I must just remember it next time.
0 RedPanda
Google works surprisingly well to search a great number of websites (better than the native search functions), and it's a good thing to remember. I use search every now-and-again on SAAustralia, but have never encountered the 13sec timeout? Do you think it might also have something to do with peak-traffic?
