SASydneysider
Yip, we'll definitely be interested in meeting up with other SAffers!! We've been without friends and a social life for too long. I miss having a support system!Neither of us can 'sokkie', but what the hell, we'll join in with whatever goes, even if it's just the braaing! NZHigh
Sorry, can't make it. By the way, Dances (South African style) are fairly common in Auckland area, I guess around 6 or 7 per year, half of which is organised by the Afrikaans Club. Because we like dancing we do at least one a year. It is also interesting to note how many Kiwi kids tag along with the South African Boy or Girl friends. zana
Massyn
Dit klink bakgat.. Ek is daar! Dis gewoonlik so $70.
Dit is my 2 sent....
SASydneysider
Here's my contribution .....I've briefly looked at these halls on the Internet. This is what I found in the Baulkam Hills Shire http://www.baulkhamhills.nsw.gov.au/commun.../venuelist.aspx and this is in the Hornsby Shire http://www.hornsby.nsw.gov.au/servicesfaci...avigationID=604.I'll email them tomorrow evening to find out what the cost of hiring would be.CheersSAS
SASydneysider
The halls in the Baulkham Hills area are around $200 for a hall that can take 100 people (eg Dural Memorial Hall). See this link for prices http://www.baulkhamhills.nsw.gov.au/commun...hirecharge.aspx .To obtain prices for the halls in the Hornsby Shire (no email addresses available), I need to phone a different person for each hall, which I have not done. I assume the prices are probably much the same as the prices from the Baulkham Hills Shire. If we are unable to acquire a hall for less than these amounts, I can find out more details.CheersSAS
sa2auz
Don't really have much of a clue what anyones talking about but from what I understand here is my 2 cents worth.I think you should have it at a place that doesn't cost anything this way it doesn't matter if 10 times more people arrive, and also it will encourage people to do it on a more regular basis without costing the earth.I know Riekie has been to Fagan Park and I have heard that is great and you can just do a bring and braai and a few footballs and a cricket bat. Otherwise Bobbin Head costs about $11 a car unless you have a parks pass (definately worth its $65 a year). Also there is an amazing park with kids cycle track, BBQ's etc at Bay View, doesn't cost a penny.
zana
Hierdie is n park naby Kellyville http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/parks....y=N0632&Type=XoYou can have a picnic or barbecue and enjoy a bushwalk. The park contains cycling, walking and rollerblading tracks, as well as adventure play equipment for toddlers and teenages.
(Saterdag of Sondag, oggend of middag.....)
