Hi

I found this map of Sydney suburbs that highlights demographic info, schools and average house prices . It is potentially a good starting point for the suburb hunt. It will even show where the good schools are located and crime rates in the different areas. hope it helps.

Thank you! this is very helpful - also for the other cities.

@JoVincent  Most people only live close to the city because they work there or they want to go party in the city.

Lets not forget @AFreshStart  and his minimalist lifestyle.   We are super lucky that Sydney is quite diverse...  The central coast (e.g.. Gosford) is so different to even the northern beaches  (e.g. Belrose or Dee Why). Then you compare those areas to St Ives which is just down the way ;)

Some people just like the lifestyle in their "inner city shoe box"  (i.e a super expensive, tiny apartment near the CBD).

But, yes somewhere out in suburbia (e.g. the Bella Vista, Pennant Hills, Belrose) is going to be more like what most South African migrants are used to in South Africa. But unfortunately, you do pay for that  (both in $$$ and in travel time to work).
