Uluru & Kata Tjuta

I'm in Devon, England at the moment, after just spending the best part of two months in Portugal.

I guess travelling the world is great, but I still would just hitch up and head north into the tropics of Australia if I had no ties to stop me.

Every South African, coming to Australia, needs to do a road trip out into the Outback at least once, to feel what an Aussie feels and get to know the psyche of what makes an Aussie "tick".

You'll meet all sorts of characters out on the road, some will be memorable and some not so, but you won't forget the hardship involved in what the early Australian settlers needed to overcome to tame this big country, with its isolation, vast distances, heat and flies.
