UK2AUS
Hi guysJust wondering if anyone has come across a car insurance company that insures someone on a working holiday visa. Basically we'd like to insure our daughter's boyfriend to drive our car but he'll only be here on a working holiday visa.Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks folksJenny
Mary
Hi JennyWelcome to Australia at last! How are you finding Brisbane?I just wanted to let you know that when my sister and her husband came over for a visit, we just phoned our insurance company (HBF) and asked them to put my sister and her husband on our policy. All they do is ask for their names, date of birth, etc. and it's done. The only problem is they do ask whether the prospective driver has had any car accidents and/or unpaid insurance claims in the last five years - if they have, then they won't put them on the insurance policy. It didn't cost any extra, and was very easy to do - just a phone call. And all my sister and brother-in-law had was a holiday visa.Mary
21yearsoutofrsa
When I've had visitors from overseas I've contacted my insurance company and added them as named drivers. Most of the time they were covered anyway.
