Dedrei
Some news from DIAC regarding acknowledgement of applicationsNewsFrom 21 May 2007 the Admin team in the ASPC is changing the way they receipt and acknowledge applications. To improve the service provided to clients the Admin team will be receipting payment within 7 working days of receiving an application where e-mail communication has been authorised. Applicants or their authorised representatives will receive acknowledgement that the department has received their documents and receipted the relevant visa application charge.Once an application has been receipted it will undergo validity checking. An acknowledgement letter with a client reference number and receipt will be sent about four weeks after lodgement if the application is valid. Then the queue for acknowledgementsAcknowledgment of ApplicationsApplicants and representatives who have authorised e-mail communication can expect to receive confirmation that the ASPC has received an application and receipted the relevant visa application charge within 7 working days of the department receiving the application form.Applicants and representatives who have not authorised e-mail communication will not receive separate advice that the ASPC has received and receipted an application and will receive the standard acknowledgement letter. Please note that any delay in acknowledging an application does not affect the date on which a valid application is recorded as having been received and does not delay processing of the application. As of 22 May 2007 the ASPC is acknowledging onshore applications received on 3 May 2007 and offshore applications received on19 March 2007And the queue has only moved 2 days this week Processing and Allocation Information - For the week of 22 May 2007Applications lodged on or before the dates shown below have been allocated to case officers for further processing.ONSHORE APPLICATIONSStudent/GraduatePaper based applications: 13 December 2006 (subclass 880), 31 October 2006 (subclass 881) and 24 November 2006 (subclass 882)E-lodged (on-line) applications: 2 January 2007 (subclass 880) and 27 September 2006 (subclass 881) and 27 September 2006 (subclass 882)Skilled Independent Regional (Provisional) (SIR VISA)Paper based applications: 13 December 2006 E-lodged (on-line) applications: 18 December 2006New ZealandAll applications: 5 September 2006 (all subclasses)OFFSHORE APPLICATIONSApplications for Classes BN, BQ, BR and UZ (subclasses 134, 136, 137, 138,139 and 496)Priority Applications: 24 August 2006Non-Priority Applications: 10 August 2006Skilled Independent Regional (Provisional) (SIR VISA)Paper based applications: 30 August 2006 E-lodged (on-line) applications: 05 February 2007NotesOnshore: means that the visa being applied for can be granted while theapplicant is in Australia.e-lodged: applications lodged on-line have quicker processing times. tommo
Could somebody clarify this for me :Whats the difference between an application being receipted and an application being acknowledged ?And when is the date it is lodged ? Is it when they received it initially or is it the date of acknowledgement or ... ?ThanksGary
Dedrei
Hi TommoThis is the new way they are receipting applications. From 21 May 2007 the Admin team in the ASPC is changing the way they receipt and acknowledge applications. So basically you will first get a receipt and the the normal acknowledgement letter. Your date of application is the date your application arrived at ASPC.
Langes
Hi Dedrei, miskien kan jy help. Jy lyk of jy weet wat hier aangaan. Of kry jy eers 'n tydelike ding of wat? As iemand anders kan help/antwoord, asseblief, Thanks,

Dedrei
Hi GuysI have started a little timeline of my own for all members of SAAustralia.org. It can be found at http://www.freewebs.com/saaustraliaforumThis method is used on BE forum as well, and is invaluable and is a great tool for keeping tabs on what is happening to other member’s applications and your own. Those that have received your visas in the last year, please think about adding yourself to the list as well. I have added myself to the list, if you would also like to be added and help other members and yourself, please email me with the following details to dedrei(at)saaustralia.org or PMMember nameFrom where are you?Where you going to?Main applicant’s occupation Visa appliedApplicantion sentApplication arrived at ASPCPre Acknowledgement received – only applicable to applications sent in the last 3 or 4 months. This is the email letter to confirm receipt of applicationAcknowledgement received – this is the proper acknowledgement with your file ref number.CO allocation dates if known – this will be when you get the letter asking you to go for meds and PCC’sAnd then just general notes if you have frontloaded meds & pcc’s and that type of thingsNot all details are required, as I know some members prefer to remain anonymous, so the visa details are the most important details I need. Also, the sheet is still a work in progress. If you have a visa that I have not listed, please let me know and I’ll add to it.Good luck to all still waitingCheersDedrei
