We will never give up.

But the waiting is seriously draining our patience and emotions. We are all for the rules and regulations, but for a wonderful country where everything is clean and works, I'm sorry, this immigration process doesn't work very well. For a great country like Australia the immigration process should be quick and smooth, fair and justified. At least some form of guarantee, because you could wait 2,3 or 4 years and then get declined, that's not fair for any family.

If the Australian immigration continually receives applications and the backlog is building up. Then employ more people to process the applications or whatever it takes to make the process quicker. We cannot help that we were born South African but we are asking for the opportunity to become Australian.

like I said we will never give up (maybe that's why they take advantage of our determination)

Want to go now, yes it does sound long when you put it like that but you have waited just over year since your application.
I am afraid you have some time to go. I found the first year of waiting very difficult thumbdown.gif

True - the first year is very looooong. At least we got Sponsorship and we are part of the SMP in Canberra.

We said we will wait another 12 months for the visa to come through.

BUT WE WILL N E V E R E V E R GIVE UP!

Jumbo, we all have days like that where we feel like throwing in the towel, I have had mine, but they pass and we stand up fighting again. Correct me if I am wrong, you got ACT sponsorship. If see we will see you in Canberra and soon. I am sure of it.

Let's hope so....I really am worried that we will not form part of the SMP and will ultimately remain in the ever-growing, never-moving queue!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have emailed ACT to try get some clarity re SMP's and whether we will form part of it....I still await a reply! I doubt they will give me anything concrete as they have to wait until a new govt is formed after the federal elections in August

But dont give up it will happen all and dont forget why you want to go for most, it is a better future for your kids so it should not be about time but just getting there and all things happen for a reason

I cannot say which is worst, waiting for approval (from Oz) or waiting for yourself to finalise all matters in SA.

Our application took long and eventually got our 176.

Put our house in the slow dead SA house market. I decided to get the house sold before moving. I gave ourselves 30 days from confirmation of the sale but that still need to happen.

The market is really slow, had 7 viewers, all positive about what they see but the banks don't approve their bonds.

Dawid

Best financial institution for home loans currently is SA Home Loans - they are creaming most of the home loan business while the banks are tied up in red tape related to the New Credit Act. Ask your prospective buyers if they have approached them.

Our buyer was recently turned down by all the major banks - and then, just as we had lost all hope, SA Home Loans granted their loan.

Good luck!
