Migration agents

Hi All, so we are at the beginning of the journey. The first of many questions is the question of migration agents. Should one make use of them and if yes, is there specific ones to use?

We plan to apply for PR visas. My wife and I are both social workers.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

There ate quite a few but if you do decide to use one, make sure the agent is Mara registered. May I suggest Migrate2Oz. We received fantastic service from them

Best of luck.

We applied for PR visa, used Stephen Dickson to assist us. (Migration Outcomes Australia)
I would recommend Stephen, he was great, very knowledgeable on the process and gave us good advice.
We got our visas quickly, signed up with Stephen as our agent in June 2014, visas granted March 2015.
Get a really good scanner printer for home, it saves hours being able to scan documents and email them in the evening at home, so Aus gets them first thing in the morning in their inbox.
Start collecting all your certificates now and get copies of them certified.
Good luck with the process, hang I there during tough times!

The MARA site has a lot of information on this topic. The MARA is a government organisation.

https://www.mara.gov.au/using-an-agent/

Just remember, the system is designed that you can do it yourself. Using an agent to help out is a personal choice. But Iif you do use an agent, read up on the MARA site about what exactly an agent does and doesnt do before you pay your agent.

I Used Paola at 4 Corners Immigration in Cape Town. They were excellent and We got PR in 8 months! It was nice having someone close by to pop in and chat whenever we had a few more questions!

Also be advised that it is possible to do the visa process on your own without an agent. We did ours on our own and saved ourselves quite alot of money. Everything is done online and its actually quite simple. If you do plan on using a migration agent check out the forum for recomendations, there are alot of dodgy agents out there!

Good luck with the process:-)
