Cornewagemaker

We have to activate it by 16 January 2016 and then have five years after that to make the permanent move over.

Congrats!!! See you have quite a long time before you have to activate. How did you manage that? Did you only submit your medicals or pcc in jan 2015?

Yes we only did PCC and medicals in January....hence the activation date.

How long from applying for your PCC till you got it? Im also in Cape Town and know that this can sometimes take very long. We are just starting the process - my husband main applicant needs to score all 8's on IELTS to get our 60 points - does not seem like its an easy score to get.

We started the process in June 2014.

If you need to apply for unabridged birth certificates, do so ASAP, they can take a while to get.

Also get a good printer, scanner at home. It saved us a lot of time with scanning and emailing documents to our agent.

We scanned and emailed our PCC to the agent on 24 February.

Did our medicals on 14 January.

Got our visas on 3 March.

All the best with the iELTS...my advice would be to research IELTS type questions and practice tests online. Also I researched essay style writing, as I had not written essays and analyzed graphs for years....so I brushed up on these skills before taking the exam.

Good luck with the process.

Please feel free to ask if you have any questions or want to chat about the process.
