neburr
Hi EveryoneI am aware that these costs have appeared on several posts in the past. If it is appropriate to pin this to those posts would be in order with me.For those of you looking to use a move cube as opposed to a container this post might be beneficial to you.Move cubes in South Africa are handled by Seven seas International. I spoke to lady called Sasha who was very helpful. Her contact number is 0800 2166 698. Move cubes comes in 3 sizes. Small, medium and large. These are their sizes:Large: 226x146x187cm- takes about 1250kg (6m3)Medium: 146x112x187cm-takes about 1250kg (3m3)Small: 112x96x187cm-takes about 1250kg-(2m3)Each cube attracts the same inspection fee which is $ 308. You pay this fee per cube that you require. It takes on average 82 from RSA to Australia-give or take a week . A deposit of R1800 is payable before they dispatch the move cube to you. They give you about 2 hours to pack the cube (which you do your self). If you take more than 1 cube, they will adjust this time as appropriate. Apparently you can pack a cube quite comfortably within an hour- provided you are ready and have your stuff pre-packaged before the cube arrives. They can also provide you with boxes and other packaging material. You can request a quote from them if need be.I hope that this helps.

KirstyS
Thanks for this info. Just wondering as I am only starting to investigate this now anyone have a rough idea of what you could get into a move cube? Those who have used one what did you managed to get in? TIA
DXB2OZ
Something to add - if you are sending a small amount, check with the moving companies as well. We sent a few pieces of furniture, loaded with crockery, etc. Awkward shape for a move cube, so we checked with moving companies and it was cheaper to pay them to wrap, pack, ship and deliver than it was to use a move cube. Plus it took the same amount of time, although this is NOT guaranteed. So always check and shop around.
