SD_MOA
Hello All,I have a client who was called by someone purporting to be from DIBP asking for a payment to correct an error on his application. If you receive a similar call simply ask them to email the request to you on the email address they have on their records.DIBP have a scam alert page on their website: http://www.immi.gov.au/Help/Pages/fraud/migration-fraud-scams.aspx
SurferMan
Quite a chancy thing to do Stevo. If the AFP get hold of them they can expect a long stint in the can. Thanks for posting.
21yearsoutofrsa
these guys must have access to DIBP records. You can't just phone random numbers, your hit rate would be far to low to make it worthwhile. It's not like someone phoning pretending to be from microsoft where they have a pretty good chance that the person contacted will have a PC.So what is DIBP doing to protect peoples privacy and why aren't they getting their own backyard into order?
