Hi everyone,

We received our invitation to apply for our visa's, we are wondering now what sort of timeframe are we looking at to getting a case officer issued?

Just seem to be so close but still so far, lol.

Thanks for an awesome forum, lekker to see how everyone works together.

Hi there,

Ours took 7 weeks. Lodged at beginning of December, heard from the case officer for the first time on the 21st of January and found out we had the visa on the 23rd January.

Good luck!

We still waiting for an unabridged BC applied for in May 2014 (only doc out standing) otherwise I'm pretty sure we would have our visa as well. All prayers for the BC welcome

Hi BeachBall,

We heading to Bunbury in WA.

My brother in-law has been there for 3 years now and loving it. Will use that as ground zero and take it from there. And yourself?

Vanschoorfamily,

Hang in there. Soon. Hehe the wait is worth it.

And I will have to take Bigvan around and show him some of the fishing spots. The die hard has stomped some of my old haunts in Kosi Bay....retribution is in order!!!

Hi Kimmykins, we waited a year as well for a BC. We would still be waiting if we did not go back to Home affairs, escalated the issue three times with two weeks waiting each time. At the end someone on the forum gave us a phone number of an Afrikaans Lady in Home Affairs Pretoria. She stirred things from the top and we had the certificate the next day at Home affairs in Stellenbosch. Now if someone just could give you that lady's number again ...

That would be awesome since I've escalated the matter each week since Oct 2014 with case number and all through the call center at Home Affairs to no avail...its the only outstanding doc!

Kimmykins - Go onto the DHA website. Find the man that is head of certificates and his cell phone number is listed there. Start hounding him. He was rude to my husband telling him he was wasting his time to which hubby replied well you have wasted 8 months of my time! We had the certificate the next day.

We had also contacted the Western cape Provincial Manager of DHA and had been hounding him (nice man). Yu have to start phoning them via their cell phones and be a nuisance. Only way to get it.

Kimmykins and I have been chatting on our frustration on our UBC's. So I stole your advise, contacted the guy, who was very nice actually. Said we should sms our details to him. He immediately replied to us with another guys name and nr and said phone him. We did and left a voice mail and sent him an sms. 30 Min later my husband got a call from another guy who said our certificate is ready and we can collect it. This was Tuesday. Yesterday we collected the certificate with no issues and last night at 19:10 the secretary of the Head contacted us to find out if everything went well?

I am still gobsmacked as to how quickly this went after spending months on the phone with the call center ...

Thank you VERY VERY much...now only PCC's outstanding :ilikeit::ilikeit:

Phew! The relief you feel when you finally have that certificate in your hand!

Glad you caught the man on a good day! Perhaps he was rapped on the knuckles for rudeness....

Either way....yay for you! :D
