Also keen to hear if you frontloaded all docs or waiting to do PCc & medicals?

We lodged 23 Dec 2014 so essentially it is 2015 because I doubt anything was done over the Christmas/New year period.

We did our medicals today (16 Jan) and are STILL waiting for police clearances.

Good luck everyone!! :-)

Last I heard it takes between 4-6wks before VPO assesses application. Hoping we've front loaded everything so we don't have to be put back into pool for another 4 weeks!!! ...sure a test of patience

...im waiting, im waiting. ..

What does it mean to frontload all your docs?

We had to wait for HAPID to do medicals and that you get when you lodge visa. We also then had to wait for medicals as it was the Christmas/New Year period.

Will this mean it will take longer to get our visa?

We are just waiting on PC's.

@ LouisMark - can get HapID before submitting and also do pcc. Then submit application with everything ,including form 80 so your file is then 'decision ready' when picked up by VPO. Otherwise when they review ur application, they request outstanding docs and put your application back into waiting pool for another 4+ weeks...

Thanks! We went through an agent and lodged visa and then did medicals. our PCC's were set in motion before that though, but we are still waiting. I guess we will just be put back in the pile for a while if someone looks at before we get the certificates. Sigh.

We applied for our 189 visas on 15 December. Applied for PCCs on 30 December and got an sms on 10 Jan to acknowledge receipt of our application. Wife done her medicals on 6 Jan, and I'm doing mine on 27 Jan. So we're hoping the PCCs don't hold us up as I know the medicals only take a few days to reflect on the immi account.

We applied for 190 on 20 Dec. On completion of the application we did health declaration as per link on the immi site (just below area listing documents submitted) and received automatic generated letters with HapID numbers.

My question. On immi site the following statement is made:

You should not use My Health Declarations if you:

have already lodged a visa application as this will slow down the processing of your visa application the visa that you are intending to apply for can take more than six months to process.

Did you first wait for VPO to ask again or did you just use the automatic generated letters for the medicals???

Faduv- yip, if uv lodged & paid for visa u shouldn't use My Health Declarations --- we used it after getting Invite , did medicals, and then lodged visa... reason being we know of people that had issues with medicals and visa was denied. My personality type is just over careful :-)

Hi mluik, as regards the "issues with medicals" did the applicants have complications with their health or just procedural issues?

Hi guys! We lodged our 189 application on 20 Dec 2014. Frontloaded documents and did medicals on 22 Dec. Now it's waiting time...

Good luck to other applicants.

Hi Faduv

You will need to phone the correct place where you will get your medicals done and book an appointment. You will need your HAP ID's to do this so write them down so you can give the doctor performing your medical the numbers. They will then be able to determine what you will be needing in terms of a medical examination (e.g. blood tests, x rays etc). Once your medicals have been completed, they will update this information and you will then see the status change on your IMMI account (about a week after your medicals have been done).

Where do you live? You can look on the immi website for a list of doctors who do medicals in your area. I didn't use my health declaration but rather documented my HAP ID numbers and gave them to our doctor who did our medicals. They can access what is required by using the HAP ID.

I hope that this information helps you.

@ Faduv - interesting prices. I just booked for our medicals today at the approved panel Dr at Intercare Tygervalley in Cape Town

R850 per consultation for adult ( R650 per child )

R570 per xray

and they won't quote on blood tests as 'they don't know which ones will be required' despite the referral letter stating HIV test....
