DestinationOz
Hi EveryoneHope you guys are having an awesome festive season. My PR visa was granted in 2010 (label stuck in passport) and at the time I was not married. We will be immigrating on the 12 February and should have more than 6 months left on our current passport however my hubby insist that we apply for new passports just to be on the safe side. Since I was granted PR I have gotten married and changed my surname. I have not informed the Australian government of this change however when we applied for hubby's spousal visa in July we did send through our marriage certificate with the rest of the supporting documents. My concerns are: 1. Is it a problem that I haven't updated my marital status with them? 2. Will I have problem entering Australia on my new passport since my PR visa was granted under my maiden name and stuck in my "old" passport? Any advise will be appreciated. Thanks

TiaanAndLeigh
Hi there. I had a simmiar situation, except our visa had not yet been granted. I submitted the required forms as well as copies of old and new passport and marriage certificate on the immi account with all my other docs, but on the visa grant letter my maiden name and old passport number are still reflected. Should I upload this info to my immi account again, or assume they have the correct info? Will they pick it up on the immi account after the visa has been granted? SD_MOA
Hello Tiaan and Leigh,I suggest you logon to VEVO and see what details are held there for you.Regards
Three80
How do you know when this is done, do you get an email or something to confirm and how long is it supposed to take before it is processed? Our SS190 Visa dictates that these changes could not be made online, thus Form 929 was sent from South Africa on 4 December 2014, yet VEVO still shows the old details. Is there any other way to follow up, as Form 929 only gives a telephone number to use if you are IN Australia, otherwise a fax number, street and postal address. No email address available either Edited January 18, 2015 by Three80
TiaanAndLeigh
I am not sure how long this process takes or if they ever confirm receipt of form 929. On the website it states that they do not respond to or acknowledge receipt of this form, so no idea how you are supposed to know if it has been captured. I have emailed the Australian High Commission in Pretoria to try get some clarity, will let you know what they say. The website does say to return the completed form to a departmental office where the Australian High Commission in Pretoria, among others, is listed. Today I received confirmation of the updating of my details and a new visa grant letter back from them. It took less than a week.Hope this helps!P.S. The Pretoria High Commission never came back to us with a response! Edited January 28, 2015 by TiaanAndLeigh
