Hi there everyone

We have recently got our visas and are looking to move to Sydney in the Northern Beaches area. We have 3 young children who will be going into Year 2, Kindergarten and Preschool. I have been looking through the internet for schools we would like to send our children to and wanted to know if you have any good suggestions that we can look at. I have looked at Covenant Christian School and Oxford Falls Grammar school and like the look of those on their website (obviously can't just go by website) so any feedback would be appreciated. We will not be able to send them to a private school but any good christian or public schools.

Thanks so much

I have driven through Oxford falls and I didn't look like the sort of place that would have any top schools.

If you are willing to drive to dee why there is a greenwood kindergarten there. Greenwood learly learning centres are some of the best around.

Oh and if you move to Oxford Falls, give the C3 church a try. They fit somewhere nicely between catholic and completely weird (e.g "let's speak in you tongues and fall down"). I can't stress how important making friends in Aussie is. The Oxford falls locals would be able to tell you where the best schools are, how far in advance you need to apply, etc..

Hi SE... I live in Belrose and my kids (3 and almost 5) will be in pre school and kindy in 2015, so this is my topic of the week ;) Oxford Falls is a very good school, expensive and tricky to get in. Luckily for you (and I) the state primary schools in the area are top notch. And some of the local high schools are good to. I will personally saw my own arm off if I had to drive to Oxford Falls school in the mornings. Its in a bad traffic spot, plus there are mega road works starting asap for the new massive hospital they are building close by. All the roads are being affected. If you can walk to your kids schools, hou have won the lotto. There is a school bus to OF, but wont sommer stick a year 2 kid on it, till I know the lay of the land. The local pre schools are by large excellent. My son goes to a KU centre (his on Bambara rd). You cant go wrong with KU, Morgan rd, St Stephens, etc. Highly regarded state primary schools are: Wakehurst, Belrose public, Mimosa, Frenchs Forest public. Covenant and Northern Beaches Christian schools are good and pricey, the former a bit more hard core Christian than the latter. We're considering Northern Beaches C S for a possible high school, but thats waaaay in the future for us. Send me a PM if you want to ask more questions.

Wow - thank you so much for the useful information.

Monsta - my husband's friend goes to C3 church so we will definitely visit it when we get there.

Rozellem - thank you so much for the schools advice. I will send you a personal message, really appreciate the honest and helpful feedback.
