Job Title Network Engineer Department Information Technology Reports To Director, ASPAC MSO Operations Area Global Job Description Responsible for maintaining regional customer facing network infrastructure. Responsibilities include but not limited to configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting LAN, VPN and customer private connections, firewall/ security, monitoring bandwidth usage/analyzing data traffic patterns and assuring network uptime meets corporate needs. Duties include providing on call support after hours and on holidays (rotation). Education and Experience ¨ In depth knowledge TCP/IP concepts ¨ Cisco CCNP or Juniper JNCIP certifications required. ¨ Minimum six years of network experience in configuring, managing and troubleshooting of Cisco devices. ¨ Strong BGP / OSPF protocols understanding, configuration and troubleshooting skills. ¨ Strong understanding of STP and L2 related security features ¨ Strong understanding of IPSec and SSL VPN technologies ¨ Good understanding of WAN technologies, including, but not limited to MPLS ¨ Experience with Cisco Catalyst and Juniper EX series of switches ¨ Experience with Cisco ASA firewalls and Juniper SRX service gateways ¨ Experience with managing secure environments (e.g. PCI) ¨ Experience with WAN acceleration technology ¨ Experience with traffic load balancing technology Work Performed Emphasis Business / Application Knowledge ¨ Understands the general technical requirements of assigned applications ¨ Has overview understanding of the Company’s business 10 % Analysis Skills ¨ Possesses strong troubleshooting skills ¨ Manages problem calls and resolutions, and communicates resolution to appropriate IT personnel and system users ¨ Develops test plans for configuration and installation work ¨ Possesses solid understanding of the application deployment process and correlations with network administration responsibilities ¨ Develops, documents, and coordinates implementation work plans ¨ Facilitates the maintenance of network diagrams and documentation ¨ Researches new communication technologies that may increase corporate 30 % Technical Skills ¨ Responsible for the administration of WAN, LAN and/or WLAN services ¨ Assist in integration and migration of established network environments ¨ Ensures proper level of redundancy exists in network designs ¨ Analyzes network traffic patterns and bandwidth usage ¨ Manages and monitors, switches and routers, and uses remote monitoring tools, protocol analyzers and cable testers to troubleshoot, diagnose and identify failing/failed components ¨ Integrates and implements network management applications ¨ Manages on-call escalations from the NOC or other Network Analysts 30 % Project Management ¨ Possesses basic project management skills ¨ Evaluates project objectives and scope for feasibility ¨ Produces project status reports on a timely basis 15 % Supervisory Skills ¨ Strong technical knowledge and the ability to express complex technical concepts in understandable terms to the business ¨ Ability to work with, communicate with, coach and motivate people ¨ Good inter-personal skills including communication and negotiating skills 10 % Basic Skills ¨ Adheres to Company standards and methodology ¨ Adheres to Company confidentiality and security requirements ¨ Communicates effectively ¨ Consistently demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism 5 % Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
