It seems as if there are quite a number of families heading to Oz over the next few weeks. Would be interesting to see who is leaving when and where you are all heading to.

My husband and I leave on 16 Dec (6 weeks time!!!) and we are heading for Perth :) Getting quite excited.

Its all very exciting. Myself, hubby, son of 12 and daughter of 7 are leaving on the 25th of November, spending two weeks with family in Sydney then heading up to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland (we are staying over in Coffs Harbour Maligso, it looks gorgeous!)

Parks from this forum is on the same flight as us, also heading for QLD :ilikeit:

I'm checked into the BidVest Lounge in JHB as I type this. I've just made the trip up from Cape Town and will be boarding my direct flight with Qantas to Sydney in 2.5 hours. We've rented a nice little 3-bedroom terrace in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills, 15mins walking distance form my wife's office, 800m to our new Church and 400m to our son's new school. Loads of parks for myself and my 2yr old to explore and find our feet, not to mention the cafes and coffee shops.

My wife and the kids will be joining me on the 22nd of November, just ahead of celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary, and what a way to see it in!

Cheers

Matt

I can feel the excitement in all of these posts. Hopefully it will infect and inspire all those still waiting for their visas or those who are just starting the process. It feels as if the day will never come .... But it does :)

Like Tammy mentioned above.....

Hubby, myself and 3 kids, young lady of 17, helpful boy of 14, and our little girl angel of 8, depart 25th November for Brisbane. We can't wait.

We will be staying with friends in Brisbane while we hunt for work starting on the Sunshine Coast and making our way up North right upto Cairns. Hope to be settled in 2 months when kids start school 28 January.

Best wishes to all.

All the very best to each and everyone of you.

My wife and I (along with our two doggies) moved over to Adelaide one year ago.

Our first year has not been easy for many reasons. But, that's how it is. We know each year will become easier than the previous one as long as we have the correct positive attitude.

To share some advice with you (from our own experiences) - relocating and settling in to a whole new country, society and life style is not easy. You will have your moments of frustrations, home sickness, loneliness and the like. But none of this will ever become an overriding problem as long as you make the best of each day, each moment. Put in as much as you want out of your new life. Socialise, network and get into making new friends. Make adjustments with a welcoming attitude. Always look at the bigger picture and not let the smaller issues get the best of you. Most of all, keep reminding your selves why it is you decided to make this move in the first place.

Looking at our "bigger picture" over the past one year, we both have loved every moment and thank God for this opportunity.

The wife and I are still hoping to spend our first Christmas with our family in Maroochydore, on the Sunshine Coast.

Haven't booked our flights yet, but our bags are packed and standing in the corner.

We shall catch the VERY first flight out of here the moment our 143 Visa is issued, which we anticipate around 20th December.

Like what Neels said - it is a feeling close to your wedding day. That's spot on for me.

Mr PTLF and I are leaving for Perth on 17 Jan '15. The excitement feels like its going to burst. I feel like a kid again - so much energy and happiness and a feeling that we'll be alright and endure no matter what happens. Good luck to all of you and enjoy the ride!

You are going to love the Gold Coast - been here for 14 years now and still love it every day

Hubby and I arrive on the Gold Coast QLD in Feb 2015. :D

Exciting times ahead.

Where are you going to be staying - do you have family here? Let me know if you need anything
