Visa application sent in September

Hi there

I am wondering if any of you have had the same happen to you. We applied and paid for our VISA (PR 189) in September. I received an e-mail from Skill Select today saying that my EOI invitation received in September will expire in 19 days and if I don't apply for a Visa by then, the EOI will be removed from the Skillselect.

We have already sent a VISA application and have loaded all documents in IMMI account as well as done our medicals. Should we worry about this e-mail received from Skillselect (I thought that Skill select and IMMI account would've "talked" as we lodged our VISA through the "Apply Visa" button in Skill select.

Your feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks so much! (we haven't had a case officer assigned NOR heard anything on the IMMI but from this forum I can see that this is normal and I should only expect to hear from them in December (10 weeks after lodging visa)

SE1508,

I would call them up, or even better, email nsw.pse@immi.gov.au and quote your reference number in the subject. Ask them to please check and confirm receipt. The email is a normal auto-generated reminder for you to let you know. If you have submitted and have the proof of submission, and receipt of payment, I would not worry at all. The main thing is:

1: You got an invite

2: You paid and submitted and got a receipt

3: You have all the required valid doccos.

Either way, for peace of mind I would call them up.

Thanks SurferMan for the advice - I will send them all the documents they have sent to me for the VISA application as proof.

Yes, take it from me, what you dont want is your application to fail for some silly little admin fault. They are anal to a fault and if you look at that, it is actually a good thing, because it ensures the integrity of the process. It took me 4 tries to get PR, but I have it now!

Thanks Surferman,

I have now been sent a message from DIBP saying that my EOI has been suspended as a VISA application has been received. I must say that my heart sank when I read the first line "EOI suspended", however on reading further it looks like the DIBP has received the VISA application so it should be moving forward. I haven't had a case officer assigned. Waiting patiently.

They did say that if my visa was refused or granted that another EOI could not be lodged. This it the one and only chance by the looks of things so am hoping all goes well.

Thanks mattcuz, they asked for proof of his English. I have submitted a letter from his high school and university saying that he studied in English so hopefully this will be enough for them.

Hope all goes well with your visa application!
