Medicare offices opening hours between Christmas & New Year

Does anyone know if there are special opening hours for Medicare offices between Christmas and New Year, or if they are closed altogether?

The opening hours on their website are listed as 9am-5pm but does that work all year round? Do government departments close at all, except of course for the public holidays?
