Clanonthemove
Hi everyoneWe are hoping to move to Perth as soon as my fiance gets a work sponsorship. Which area in Perth would be a good option to look at? we have been on google maps and Ellenbrook/ surrounds seems pretty, but schools seem to rank low. We would like to be in a really good area, easy access to the city but with good schools. Any advice would be appreciated.

Drought
Really good area + good schools + good access = high cost of living. so all relative really. Ellenbrook is in the Swan Valley and the newer estates in there are "good" areas. If you look slightly further north the is the Vines. As for schools, depends on what you refer to in terms of ranking, but close to the suburb are a number of independent and private schools ranging in fees from the early 000's to $20 000 per year. Access to the city is again a relative concept- if there is a road, there is access. What is more important to you: travel time to work or ease of access to schools or weekend facilities? I would suggest that you get the job location first, then look at the other factors.
Clanonthemove
Thanks so much for the reply! I suppose we would prefer being closer to schools and weekend facilities and would rather travel a little further for work. It seems that most people travel far for work but we are hoping that there will be some good public transport that can be used. We have checked the top listed public schools and the ones in Ellenbrook rank arount 600th. It seems most schools have very few pupils in a class which is already a bonus. We are not sure if the schools rank a certain way purely because there are so many schools in Perth, but that they still have good quality teachers and work etc.
