Kimvc
We are moving as a family of four, kids age 19 and 17. Besides school fees can anyone help me with a list of monthly expenses, that I can get an idea of cost of living. We are looking at Helensvale area as it is close to school. I am sure this topic has been covered before but 2014 costs will be more applicable.

Heather
Been living here for 14 years, love it, lived in Robina and now in CarraraRentals are about 450 - 550 a week for a basic home, your phone you can do a plan - $30 gives you quite a good deal. water is about $450 a quarter, car rego is approximately $431 for 6 months (thats for a landcruiser) insurance for the car you can phone around and compare and save yourself a lot - roughly $535 on the landcruiser but on a plan where the car is rarely used. Food costs are about $150 a week - if you shop at about 830 at night you can get a lot of the fresh stuff marked down - eg roast chickens from $10.99 to about $4.00 - bread and rolls marked less than half price - those kind of things. My electricity is fairly high as we are in a big home so hard to give you an accurate idea.
