Hi

I tried to book for IELTS but all Gauteng slots for 2014 are full.

When do the new slots open.

Has anybody from Gauteng taken the jump and done IELTS in DBN or CTN?

I thought a IELTS centre in Cape Town has closed down...

THey may be coming over to JHB for their IELTS. And that is why it is so busy?

I remember when we did it in 2007/8. IELTS was so fully booked, people were flying up to Namibia and Zimbabwe for the day to do the tests.

It's crazy, here in Perth you have to book about 2 weeks in advance, but man the number of people! What a good $$ racket to be in. :jester: Sorry to hear you guys are struggling!

Why do the IELTS when you are already there?

Isnt it something one does to actually get there? ;-)

Hi Eyebrow,

You still need IETLS, well in my case and many others. Even my proof of high school and Aussie post grad in English was not enough.

Even though he's been working in Australia for 4 years. What a crock ;)

Cape Town is fine from 1 November. October is fully booked. If I'm not mistaken, it's only the language labs that have problems. British test centres are still doing tests as normal......

You are 100% correct. I contacted the British council earlier today to move our booking forward and I asked them about that. They (Bridgette) confirmed that it was the language labs that were having problems, the British council testing centers are all up and running as normal.

Hey People it seems that the IELTS availability is a wave of activity.

At night there is nothing then the next morning around 9 -9:30 slots become available. I suspect this is due to the 5 days to confirm ID and Payment situation and it looks like for some reason people are just not confirmining, maybe students that book for international exams just dont have enough urgency as people looking to imigrate. just my 2c.

Hi Everyone.

Booked mine last night as well without any hastles. Very efficient. Just need to pay to complete the booking. I've read up a bit and I must admit as an Afrikaans guy I'm very nervous about the test. Everyobody sy one should study but where can I get the material to study? Also havent received anything from them indicating what I should study. I need to get all 7's......

I agree with a previous poster on trying to book again. My husband booked at the beginning of this month and got a booking for mid-October. It also seemed as if days which were "full" were strangely available later, which might be those cancelled/rejected bookings mentioned.

Will hold thumbs for you! :ilikeit:
