Brilliant Service!

I was out walking the dog and noticed that 2 street lights were out...just a couple of houses down from me.

I started with the phone book...then googled "street light faults Adelaide"

The web address for SA Power Networks popped up. What a totally user friendly site. Everything could be reported online with a map showing all the street lights in the road. Only took a few seconds.
There's no excuse for not reporting things if it's this simple!

The web address is:https://slo.apps.sapowernetworks.com.au/
The one light was repaired within 2 days.

I just received a letter from them with a cheque enclosed! It took 6 weeks to repair the other street light (needed a complete new assembly at the top) and they sent me a cheque for $150 which was $25 per week for the period that it took to repair it.
How good is that! :ilikeit:

That's cool. Nice to live in a place where service delivery still means something. :ilikeit:

We live in Adelaide and the service level is amazing.

We used their website and reported a street light fault. In less than 24 hours the light was fixed. A few hours later a text message came through asking me if I was happy with the service.

Awesome!!!!

I don't understand why they paid you. That is so random and....socialist, and....crazy! Sorry.

When I reported the lights out I had no idea that they would pay anything if the lights weren't fixed in a certain time.

SA Power Networks sent me a copy of their service charter with the enclosed cheque. The service charter states that it is my right to have a working street light and that they will compensate anyone who reports a fault, if they do not rectify that fault within 5 working days. The compensation for not having a working street light is $25 per 5 business days.

I consider it to be a brilliant business practice that keeps public service providers on their toes. Compare this with the "service" that I received from the Cape Town City Council and Eskom and its chalk and cheese!

Refund of rates is my guess?

Then again, just read Tamara's reply. There you go!
