Where to stay in Adelaide for "research" visit

Hi all,

We are coming to Adelaide to "activate" our PR visas over December...

We want to do a bit of "recon" before we move there for good...

Please can someone advice us on a good central place to live at...

Basically after our visit we will be looking for work from RSA so once we are lucky enough to get work, we will know what area we want to go live in...

Your help will be greatly appreciated!!

Your best bet would be to find a short term rental that is very central perhaps somewhere around Glenelg which is a seaside suburb but it is a little pricey. When you are employed then you can make longer term decisions. We would have liked to live near the sea but my husbands work is all on the North Eastern side of Adelaide so it made sense for us to buy a house there-a decision we have not regretted. We live in the foothills of Adelaide, close to good bus routes etc. Our house was much cheaper than the houses in the seaside suburbs and it only takes us 25mins on a Sunday to drive to the nearest beach and 15 mins to be out in the country.

Don't be discouraged if you don't manage to land a job while still in SA-the employment market is very tight in Adelaide at the moment and employers will always take somebody that can A) come for an interview and B) start work almost immediately. Depending on your skills you may have to start with short term contracts until something better comes along but the main things is to get here and start earning those dollars.all the best .

Check on www.stayz.com.au for furnished accommodation, just realise that in December you will be paying a premium for it.

Not sure why, it was Sturt River Park.

We fly 30 October, landing 31st

I could not find a price on their website, weird. Sounds like a lot of bollie to me, it's October!

How about Brownhill creek caravan park, Belair caravan park or Adelaide Shores??

Have a look at airbnb for an entire house / apartment in the suburbs. I use them a lot and the owners always give heaps of local information, bus timetables, etc. It's like having a personal tour guide.

When we came on our LSD trip we stayed at http://www.heidisbedandbreakfast.com/index.html

Not the cheapest option out there but it was a very comfortable place for us. In a very nice suburb.

They only take one booking at a time (couples only). Offers open plan living and sleeping area, TV, wifi, office area, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. Close to bus stops and only 10 minutes to the CBD.

The owners made the difference for us. Run by a very nice retired couple. They were full of advice and helpful hints.

When we made our permanent move, we stayed at the same place until we found a rental property.

If you would like more details please inbox me.
