AFreshStart
Hi Cupcake,It's very simple, just go to your nearest police station, pay the money (I think it's R75 from memory), they take your finger prints, you complete the form and send it to the address provided. You pay for the return shipping and can either use a self addressed envelope or courier it (much quicker). Process takes around 14-21 days.Hope that helps.Matt
Orphan
Hi Cupcake.Have a look at the topic on this same website - New Thread - 143 Contributory Parent (Migrant) Visa. There is a detailed explanation in there on how to go getting your Police Clearance Certificate Edited August 28, 2014 by Orphan
Splinky
Hi Cupcake,We just got the forms from our local cop station, had fingerprints done there, paid the fee (R65pp I think) and then couriered it to the address provided on the form. We also arranged a courier to collect for us when the PCCs were ready to avoid any hiccups with the SAPO. Also, don't forget to ask for the PCC in your married AND maiden names (if applicable for you). I just sent an extra letter with the form asking for this and wrote it on the application form as well.Good luck!
Crossedover
If you are married ask for your maiden name to be on it too... When filling it in write surname and (née maiden name). Some case officers want it others not.... I have a feeling it depends on how long you have been married. All the best...PS take wipes with you to clean your fingers
Magenta
And you also have to include a copy of your marriage certificate.... For your maiden name to appear on the PCC. It is quite a simple process. We had to make an appointment at our local police station - we couldn't just walk in and do it.
Tazzn
Do you pay the police office in cash?
Bronwyn&Co
Just as a matter of interest, we just took our older kids for ink fingerprints in Brisbane for their first ID books. Cost $29 each. Edited August 29, 2014 by Bronwyn&Co
Cupcake
Thanks so much for the replies, I'm getting on it soon . However, I am married but I do not have my husband's name like on ID or anything else I haven't changed my name. So that part would be irrelevant for me? Splinky
I was the same as you Cupcake- kept my maiden name on ID, drivers, everything! Only my passport has my married name on it. Still got the PCC to reflect both names... just in case.
