Kath Posted August 26, 2014 Report Share Posted August 26, 2014 Hubby broke a small copper-looking gas pipe while trying to attach a new gas bottle fitting to our Weber braai. I've called Weber Australia and they won't even look at it, since it would require a new part and they will not assume responsibility for an imported Weber (understandable). The call centre agent also mentioned that it's not safe to get this fixed by a handy man. Advice please: it looks like such a small problem and I would hate to throw out the braai; it's in impeccable condition and has served us so well; don't want to buy a new one if I can help it. I understand if they won't fix it under warranty because it's imported, but to completely refuse to touch it is a bit strange - unless the model and parts are not available in Aus, which I doubt. Australian orthodontist completely refused to touch my hubby's teeth because his adult braces were put on 3 months earlier by a Pretoria orthodontist ? Not sure if I should consider getting the part in SA and having it fitted here; that's if anyone would be prepared to do the job. I have also called Barbeque Bazaar and they were also quite clear that any repairs etc would have to go through Weber. This may well be the reason why I have spotted a number of functional looking barbeques parked on curbs ready for disposal - probably a gas pipe issue :-) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
