HadEnoughofJuju
Depends on the state you plan on living in. We checked for friends the other day at the primary school my daughter is at and one of the local high schools and all you pay is the resource fee and any additional extra mural activity fees. Basically you get treated the same here in QLD as anyone else. P.S. My wife specifically checked with the bursar's of both schools about the type and number of the visa and as far as they were concerned, as long as your kids are not here on foreign student visas you don't pay school fees. ruditrix
Thanx. I tried to check, but they talk about pr, 457 and international which is expensive. I ended up somewhere on the internet..... and you put in their bdates and it calculates. Anyway it showed about $2500 for kindy and roughly the same for level one. If so then not tooo bad?? Trying to check how we will survive on about $4000 p month. With that if rudi gets medium pay wage on his trade..... and about $250 for medicals for the 4of us. Hopefully mil can pay her medical with her pension she sttill gets about $250 and the rest we will have to carry. Getting all stressed up with the monthly expenses..... HadEnoughofJuju
Kindi is a different story. It's generally expensive for everyone. The one down the road from us I think charges around the $50 a day mark for one child and there is no discount for more than one kid either. AndreaL
It depends what kindy you are referring to and what state, if your child goes to a community kindergarten (C&K) as we have here in QLD, it is about $27 a day, probably from 9 until 2,and two or three days a week. How old are your children, and what state will you go to? RYLC
Not sure whether you will be able to access this website from South Africa. I would highly recommend that you start getting your kids to watch Australian kids shows online to improve their English. Play School is wonderful, has a set sort of format, and will get the kids used to the Australian accent. Hope this site works for you...http://iview.abc.net.au/programs/play-school/CH1312H007S00

Donovan83
You can also use unblock-us.com. It allows you to set your region to Australia so that you can watch stuff on ABC iView.Costs $5/month though and needs some computer savvy to set up. RYLC
Play School is specifically for preschoolers with real people talking rather than characters so it has a different aim. Once you've seen an episode you'll know that I mean. They have a theme for the week and lots of repetition for early learners or second language learners.I've found some episodes on Youtube so that you can watcch from there rather.
