Howsit all? Thank god we still have the opportunity to go and start a new life..:)

Very nice to know that there is a home community here, and hope to keep in touch with you all even when I go over to Oz.

I am currently immigrating to Oz through an agency, Migrate2Oz, and so far they seem okay...?

I am stuck at Skills Assessment phase...I am trying to get my Intec diploma recognised...any help here would be appreciated..? Once I get this, I will start applying for jobs in IT.

I will complete my EALTS test soon, and was so scared about it, even though English is my first language...but I was told to go do the review test first...

I am applying for a state sponsored visa, possibly in South Adelaide....??? From the pics online it looks good..but any help here would be appreciated...also on where is good to stay, and just about any tips and cautions would be appreciated..thanks.

I am single and have no kids so I am ready to leave as soon as I can.

I am gatvol of the lack of law, and the overwhelming corruption in this country, and I can't do it anymore, and my family is kinda distant, so a new start for me will be a good thing :)

Take care of u,

C

Maybe you want to tell us what you have done so far with regards to your diploma, have you contacted ACS regarding the assessment ? Have you read the applicant guide ? What have you had accessed so far, what was the result.

How many years of work do you have since you have completed your diploma, is that work you have done in line with what your diploma is in i.e. Web developer and network technician are two very different areas. Have you got the letters of reference and proof for your employments.

As you can see there is a lot of questions, the more information you provide the better somebody may be able to help you.

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. I work in IT and my job relates to the CIO position so I have applied for that. I have a BComm degree and half an MBA (which doesn't really count..so I've been told), and the Systems Analysis/Design & Programming Diploma from Intec, which ACS said was not accredited. I was then asked to do the RPL which I did, and received positive feedback but the number of years is a problem since they take out so many for the initial assessment and I was left with less than 3 years of job experience. Then the consultants told me that I am running low on points, so I have to ace the EALTS (all 8's) in order to apply for South Australia state sponsorship, and now with less points on job experience I need to look at alternatives, SO, I then located a colleague who is in audit from a previous job to see if I could get a reference and apply for additional years of experience. I asked the ACS to check it and they say that audit and governance does not relate to IT, which is complete and utter BS (pardon my french)

Hi, yeah just to give you a current status. I sent a very polite reply to the ACS assessor about how audit and governance is very much a part of the IT and CIO function and of IT projects, and asked them, politely to please re-check my application based on my response, and they told me they want more money. I have found out the Intec is currently accredited and in the past, before NQF, it adhered to international standards, and am currently getting a letter from Intec regarding that, and then I want to write to someone at the ACS to appeal that I not be asked to pay again for them not checking my PASA properly, and in accordance with their rules and regulations.....I mean it is one thing to deal with incompetence in this country, and which I am trying to get away from, but to tolerate it in the country I am supposedly trying to find a better life in, would be rather inconvenient, not so..?

Am I making sense..? If not, please ask me to clarify...but please, any help here at all would help...I believe that the ACS can even refund your payment if they are at fault..?

SAtoAus, could your agents not help you with this? My understanding is that an agent can help with gathering and checking everything for skill assessments before you submit. I could be wrong as I last went to one of those talks about 4 years ago...

Hope everything works out - just try walk carefully, everyone sticks to the rules and processes in Oz, and while some jobs do overlap, if the job code only accepts one set of skills, they simply won't consider anything outside that. Maybe see if there isn't something else that's a better fit?

But in your shoes I'd ask your agent for help.

Hi, thanks for the comments :) You see I do have a postiive PASA on this job code but the amount of years was a problem because of the RPL, and them not recognising the Intec diploma, so now I am getting a letter from Intec and the additional years of employment and we will resubmit once that is done. Was just trying to see if anyone had the same problem..

Will keep you informed of progress. I just cant wait to get out of here..:)

Hi, just went through the same process last year with ACS. Just stick with it and submit what they ask for. Used the same agent without a hitch. You're most welcome to contact me offline for a chat.

Thanks Shaugn. I will take you up on that offer. I see you also applied for a 489 visa, that is what they are offering me too. I wonder if I need to start looking for jobs now...or do I wait. I will do the EALTS soon. Just taking a much needed break. Going to Zanzibar from 7 June to 14 June 2014, as my birthday is on 9 June :)

I would appreciate all the help I can get as I am anxious to get the visa this year if I can.

I do not understand the ACS...they don't seem to follow their own requirements... ...I did write to them..they not willing to check..they want you to pay for another review...can u ever  ...anyways...lets chat...maybe you can help clear my confusion here..

Thank you. :)
