Another Fee increase from DIBP

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

DIBP have just updated their website relating to the DIBP VAC (Visa Application Charge) payable on visa application lodgement:

From 19 April 2014, a credit card surcharge will apply to transactions made using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB and Diners credit cards. The following rates will apply:

  • Visa and Mastercard - 1.08%
  • American Express and JCB - 1.99%
  • Diners Club International - 2.91%

Depending on the number of people on your application this could be a significant cost. If anybody is close to submitting I would recommend they aim to do this before 19th April.

Regards

See, it's understandable that they need to pass on the bank charges (because it's costing them a fortune, shame! ?) but then why not allow people to do a bank transfer, appropriately referenced, via SWIFT?
