In general, do house rentals in Melbourne come equiped with Microwave ovens? (or should we take our own with?)

From our experience, no. They generally provide curtains and a dishwasher.

Not that I have seen - most come with the barest minimum unless you are renting a furnished place.

again we saw no microwaves - we packed ours and bought it with. but it took so long to arrive we bought another.

They're quite cheap so maybe buy a new one here?
