Hi
We arrive in Brisbane at the end of June and need to find a furnished place to rent for about 2 weeks. We are going to be job hunting in Brisbane and the Gold Coast so somewhere in between these two areas would be good. Can anyone help?
Thanks
Sharon

hi Sharon,
Look at the Brisbane Holiday Village... we stayed there for 2 weeks when we arrived and I know of quite a few other people that have stayed there. Its about 10-15 min drive to the city and to the Gold Coast probably about 45 min or maybe a little more. Have a look on the website

When we came to the Gold Coast to visit, we stayed in Azzura Greens and the apartments are great and it is central for the Gold Coast. I travel to Brisbane quite often and it takes about 50 minutes.

Let me know when you guys have booked flights (can't believe after all these years it is finally here) and we must touch base.

Michelle, I looked at that yesterday but I'm afraid I'm not much of a camper although the units do look upmarket. Certainly something to consider though.

Hello L, long time no hear:). We are waiting for a special on airlines and will book as soon as we see one. The plan is to arrive at the end of June to start school and varsity in July. Azzura Greens is $250 per night so to stay there for week is quite pricey. I will check it on one of those booking sites though as sometimes they are cheaper. Do you know Seacrest Apartments or Grand Florida Beachside Resort. The are about R6500 for a week ($800). There are good and bad reviews though. We will have to all get together when we finally make our appearance. Marc is also leaving around the same time but going to Canberra unfortunately. Do you ever see Carman?

Hi Sharon,
I am no camper either, we stayed in the units which are very nice.. they have everything you need and you dont have to worry about anything besides food.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there :-)

Hi Sharon

Try Huntington apartments, they are fully furnished and were very nice. It is close to Griffith University on the Gold Coast - I saw you mentioned someone was starting uni - I see Carman quite often - you can always have a coffee with us anytime - we have an amazing support group here on the GC - let me know if you need any inf0 - have son at UQ in Brisbane and have one at Griffith Uni on the GC - so can help you with both :)

I can try and organise you a unit in a complex for 6 months - then you dont have to rent any holiday apartments - they range from about $450 a week and have three beds and a study (some of them) in a golfing estate and double garage, two bathrooms, lounge dining modern kitchen etc - look up Easthill - the Glades - Gold Coast - the managing agent is really nice and has helped newcomers to move straight in - quite likes the SAFricans...

Thanks Heather. Easthill, The Glades look really nice. I think I would prefer to rent a fully furnished place for a week first. Do you think in that first week, it would be possible to secure a rental?
