Flat To Rent Adelaide

We are moving out of our 2-bed flat in Henley Beach on 9 Feb. It's a stunning area (we found a house down the road) very close to the Esplanade with its walkway, restaurants, pubs and shops. Good schools (state and private) are just round the corner.
On a bus route, and has off-street garage parking (for 1 car)
The flat is furnished and comfortable for up to 4 people, and has aircon.
Rent is very reasonable.
PM me if you are interested.

Date Is Set!

Hi guys,

So we've decided that 30 April will be THE day for our journey to our new home in Sydney! I contacted Gloria at IOM for a flight quotation but unfortunately 2 days later,I still haven't had any feedback. Which ever way, we want to fly 30 April so just waiting for that quote! Original plan was for hubby to go a month before us but after careful consideration we've decided to all just go together, we work better as a team Million things to do in the next few days (not months anymore, but DAYS ) . Luckily I'm only working until end of the month so I'll have more time to do everything then but the list is just soooooo long.

Transfer of our property happened much quicker than we anticipated (6 weeks start to finish) so now we're packing to move in with my parents until we leave. One of the forum members has very generously offered to take us to the airport because I'm really not up for the crying scene at the airport. Its at times like this that I just realise again what a bunch of amazing people we have together on this forum.

This week has been very draining especially with the unexpected death of our dog . My mom went to fetch him for the childrens' "take your pet to school day" when they let her know that Temba didn't want to get up,vomited and just died. He was only 5 years old and one of South Africa's top german sheperd dogs so we are all still in shock. He's left a huge gaping hole in our lives because where in the world would you find a dog as big as a lion! that will sit and lie down when a 4 year old asks him to. I just want to cry all over again

In the mean time I'm frantically looking for a place to stay for when we first arrive and saw something I like in Quakers Hill but don't know enough about the area so any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated.

So much to do,so little time

Accommodation option for when you arrive

Hi guys

This is a brilliant idea for those that are still waiting on their containers and need furnished accommodation in the mean time.

House sitting

I know of a Saffer family that is doing house sitting until their container arrives and it isn't costing them anything much really. You just look after the owner's house, garden & pets and in return you stay rent free. You might have to pay for utilities etc. But still this is such a good idea. You might move a few times between homes before your container arrives, but hell you aren't paying rent. Who cares!!

Have a look at http://www.housecarers.com.au If you want to register on the site and post your little ad so that home owners can see you it costs only AU$50. You have membership then for 12 months.

Have a think about it and look through the site to get an idea

Hope this helps some of those struggling to find accommodation

Cheers

Head Spinning

Hi guys,

Our 175 visa was granted 29Nov,just 8 months after applying.. .We really thought the process would take 18-24 months
We decided that Sept is a good time to make the big move, but then we started thinking July and well...lets just say we're now looking at May

So...on Tuesday (13/12) I phoned an estate agent to set-up an appointment for early next year to start marketing the property because as soon as its sold we're on that plane (me and my big mouth). Agent wanted to see the property immediately so the next day (14/12),agent had a look and set up appointment with potential buyers to view the property the same day! Yesterday (15/12) they put in an offer to purchase (30% more than our original purchase price 3 years ago... ) and today we accepted the offer and they want to move in 01March 2012

If we stick to our plan (revised a few times ) to go in May that would mean we'll have to rent somewhere for 2 months and where will we find a place like that?!! So we're thinking March sounds good But at the same time I doubt we'll have the money from sale by that time and we really need it there to survive without work for a while. Jeepers people,I'm like a trifle

I know a lot of people go over without a job secured...but its just soooooo scary! Part of me wants to say we should rather go in Sept to give ourselves more time but other part is saying..you'll be fine, just do it!"

I'm sorry for babbling and I guess the main purpose of this post was just to get my thoughts on "paper" and share the good news about our house.
Thanks

Perth Accommodation Options

Hi all,

I am after some options and suggestions for accommodation over the easter weekend in or around Perth. Myself the Mrs and if all goes well our 6 week old little one are planning on doing a mini LSD.

I would prefer self catering but B&B will also work. We planning on exploring suburbs both south and north of the city.

Would appreciate any suggestions regarding this or if someone would like to recommend a place where they have stayed in the past.

Also which suburbs can be recommended to explore North and South specifically close to the ocean and which suburbs should be avoided.

Thank you,
